Proposition 2 1/2 Override Vote in Franklin

The polls will be open from 6 am to 8 pm at Franklin High School where a large part of the parking lot has been reserved for voters.

Election Spending

Franklin Neighborhood Alliance (pushing for a no vote) reported income and expenditures of $2,385 as of 8 days before the election.

One Franklin (pushing for a yes) reported income of $4,098.99, eand xpenditures of  $3285.41. In addition, One Franklin received in-kind contributions, mostly from the Massachusetts Teachers Assocation, valued at $10,691.48 for a grand total of nearly $15,000.

Medway Splash Pad to Open Wed-Fri

Medway Parks & Recreation is excited to open the splash pad at Choate Park this Wednesday (6/4), Thursday (6/5), and Friday (6/6)!  Come cool off between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. — it's the perfect way to kick off the season. Regular summer hours are will be announced soon.

Belllingham Defeats "Nicotine Free Generation" Measure

By a vote of 110 to 70, Bellingham residents voted down Warrant Article 19, which would have banned the sale of tobacco and nicotine products to any person born on or after January 1, 2004 - even after they reach legal age. The defeat followed a spirited public discussion in which 17 residents spoke, with 10 expressing opposition and just 7 speaking in favor.

ICE in Milford

The arrest of an 18-year-old Milford High School student has upset many in town, particularly within Milford High School, where the individual was a student. In a Monday press conference, ICE addressed the situation  and explained that they were originally seeking the young man's father, who share his name and is also in the country illegally. ICE said they did not target the 18-year-old but since he is also not lawfully present, he was arrested.
